Police Department

The police department is structured very much like it is today, with a few modifications.

What do the uniforms look like?

Regular patrol officers wear Uniform. Shirts have the TPD patch on each shoulder. SOAR uniforms are similar to Uniform 2. Detectives are expected to wear business casual street clothes, unless they are undercover.

All officers are assigned a gun(s) and only the assigned officer can use them. How is this possible? Each gun is matched to the microchip implanted into every citizen of the Trust. If the serial number on the gun does not match the serial number of the person it is registered to, it will not fire.

Their gun is the only thing assigned to them. It is up to officers to get everything they need. There are specialized stores, some even online. However, they cater to military and law enforcement only; regular citizens cannot order from these stores.

What the hell is SOAR?

It stands for Special Operations, Assault, and Response. Members of SOAR are highly skilled and trained men. They can be called in at any time, and they handle the raids regarding members of the Resistance and other anti-Trust groups. SOAR can go wherever they are needed in their region.

SOAR members are the elite of the police force. You must be in peak physical and mental condition. They are always on call, and must be ready to go at a moment's notice. There is a minimum five year requirement before you can be accepted into SOAR. Your record must be immaculate. There will be a battery of tests followed by an extensive interview process from a review board.

How long does it take to become a police officer?

After high school, you'll enter the Police Academy. This Academy lasts for one year, and you will study civil rights, laws, investigations, traffic control, self defense and using weapons. You will start off as a basic patrol officer. Experience is your key to move through the ranks.

As a general rule it will take up to three years of hard street work before you can apply for a job as a detective. However, you need to keep in mind that you may have competition so it is really important that you do a great job in the field so you can make a case for yourself.

If you do end up earning the detective promotion you will be doing a lot of work in regular street clothes. You need to make sure that you keep your detective skills sharp and take excellent notes.

Detectives can be assigned to different departments but generally can investigate all kinds of cases.

Becoming part of the SOAR team is not going to be easy. Obviously, you need to be in incredible physical condition. You will never see an out of shape police officer that is part of the SOAR team. You also need to have the mental fortitude to deal with high pressure situations. SOAR team officers are the best trained officers in any police department and will be on call 24/7.

There is a minimum five year requirement before you can be accepted into SOAR. Be prepared to take a variety of tests including: physical fitness tests, firearms tests and psychological tests. If you complete all of these tests be prepared to undergo a rigorous interview process from a review board.
